CDY series impulse test systems can be used to generate impulse voltages simulating lightning strokes and switching surges. The stage energy is 2.5 kJ~1620kJ. Max. Charging voltage is 100~7200kV. Applications covered include testing according to IEC, ANSI/IEEE as well as other national standards. The basic system can be upgraded in various ways for special tests and for greater ease of operation. A number of additional circuits and components allow optimizing the impulse test system for tests on different kinds of high voltage test objects. The generator is due to its unique, modular, patented structure perfectly suited for transportation and easy on-site erection. Also the internal inductance is the lowest ever built. |

The multiple chopping gap is used to chop lightning impulses on the front and/or on the tail. The multiple chopping gap serves simultaneously as a load capacitor for the impulse generator and allows excellent reproducibility of the chopping time and does not distort the wave shape until the chopping point. The sphere distance is automatically adjusted and operated by the controls of SG2010 and SG2011. A manual control box is available as well. |

The sphere gap type SGS H or SGS V can be used for Impulse, AC and DC voltage calibration according to the IEC 60052 recommendation. The spheres are arranged vertically or horizontally, one being mobile. In the vertical version the mobile sphere is remotely adjusted by using an electrical drive. In the horizontal version, both spheres are mounted on columns of insulating materials, hence enabling to superimpose impulse AC and DC voltages. It is also possible to use the gap in a peaking circuit. For the chopping of lightning impulses the sphere gap can be equipped with the optional chopping device.
